Rewind to the AGM

This meeting is an opportunity for the AGM organizers to thank the many volunteers and donors who
made it all possible but it is also open to those who didn't attend the AGM and want to find out more. In each session, we'll have snacks and drinks, socialize, reminisce and view a video (approximately 50 minutes) of one of the AGM's most popular presentations. There will be two sessions.

Welcome to the Washington, DC region of the Jane Austen Society of America (JASNA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the appreciation and enjoyment of the works of English writer Jane Austen (1775-1817). Almost two centuries after her death, Austen's six major novels—Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814), Emma (1815), and Persuasion and Northanger Abbey (published posthumously in 1818)—continue to inspire, astound, and entertain.

2016 is an important year for JASNA-DC, when we host JASNA's Annual General Meeting in October, a conference and gathering for JASNA members from all over the world.

You are invited to join us and meet like-minded individuals for programs that celebrate and explore Austen's life and work. JASNA-DC has over 200 members from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Like most JASNA regions, we always have a December meeting in honor of Jane Austen's birthday (December 16); other meetings take place throughout the year as we find speakers, events, or venues likely to be of interest to our members.
